Today was the last thursday with my pupils from the electro-group. As special event I invited Martin Hotze to tell about internet, networking, security and things like this. Tired kids looking forward the end of the school followed him, some of them used their brain and so they got a glimps of what he does. It was quite interesting, for me too, but after two hours my kids were filled up with info and shut down to silent mode. So this nice afternoon ended, and I hope, Martin will come again next year.

Got a gift from catman. A mouse. Although he is 9 years old and has only one remaining tusk. It is the first time here in the house. Thanks, catman! The only thing I could not do was eating the mouse while he was watching me.

With Alberts help I found out that my ATI graphics card is not supported by ATI because its too old. So I will not have the possibility to play flightgear. Unfortunately.

Katharina is 18 since last thursday. Today she had her practical drivers licence test and she got it. And she got a sheet immediately, with wich she can drive from now on. We met in Neustift, she told me the facts and I asked her, if she wants to drive home to Obsteig: yes, she wants. And so she had her first long distance drive, 65km, 50 minutes, more than 100 km/h with highway, roundabout, road-works and parking in alone. She had done her job well and I was feeling save with her. It was funny to watch her in stressful situations: gears, winker, gas, breaks, mirrors (in the roundabout traffic). But all right, she'd done it well.

Today there was a thunderstorm that I had'nt seen before. After 3 minutes the water barrels were filled to the top. The lightnings lasted one hour.

On wednesday the choir visited Susanne in Strad in the Gurgltal. We had a fine barbecue and afterwards we sang a lot of songs we knew. First with piano and then with guitar company. Have a look:

Yesterday I tried to install a new kernel, 2.6.16_2. That endet up after a reboot with "kernel panic". There was no ramdisk for the new kernel. Today I installed 2.6.15(!) and the tool encountered a missing ramdisk from the 2.6.16-kernel, tried to repair it, was successful and so it works with the 2.6.16_2-kernel. On the other hand cups told me that the printer is not connected anymore. The next challenge. Wonder what the reason is.

Had a nice trip to Vorarlberg, visiting Georg as actor.

Afterwards we visited the Gasthaus Engel, and got a beer because we were from Tirol. It lasted long and we slept long. After the brunch we visited Bregenz, the Ried and got the train back to Tirol. Luckily I met Ingrid in the train home, she was in Buchs. Here is a picture from the visitors:
